About the Artist
I have been doing something creative all my life. As a child I drew pictures and wrote stories, and then my grandmother taught me how to sew and I started making clothes and other things for myself. As an adult, these skills have evolved into something greater than just a hobby. I earned my B.S. in Graphic Design from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. This education provided me with a strong foundation in the principles of design, art history, advertising methods and practices, web design and much more.
My preferred medium has always been colored pencil. In high school, I won first place in the art show based on one of my colored pencil pieces. This success prompted my mother to purchase my first set of colored pencils. Over the years, my style and technique have evolved. I love depicting new textures, color combinations and working with a variety of skin tones in portraits.
